About the tomb

Moving forward on the asphalt road and at a distance of about 500 meters from the point where these two tombs are located, 30 meters to the left of the road, within the olive groves lies the Kato-Fournos Tomb. It is part of the second group and is contemporary with the Lion Tomb and the Panagitsa Tomb (1400-1300 BC).

The road leading to the entrance is 12 meters long and 3 meters wide with its sidewalls built of large rectangular stones, because of the danger of collapsing. The entrance of the tomb is 3.50 meters wide and 4 meters high. The chamber has a diameter of about 10 meters and is built of smaller regular shaped stones in 25 rows up to the height of the lintel.
